You are a superhero.
Probably.
I bet that don’t think of yourself as a superhero. But consider this. Do you remember that time you had a glimpse of genius? That time when you invented something? Then you thought it was stupid? Then you found out that not only had someone else also invented it but also made millions?
OR…
You actually did invent that thing. Or saved your company millions. Or figured out how to finally get through to your child.
That’s the kind of thing I’m talking about.
Many of us - the vast majority of us - have grand plans that could change our lives and the world for the better. Sadly, things get in the way. It’s not a good time to pursue the dream. You have a family. You don’t have the street cred. You’re too young. You’re too old. Besides, who do you think you are to save the world?
The thing is, those thoughts are also what’s in the way of you getting what you want. Fortunately for all of us, those thoughts probably aren’t true and they’re definitely not permanent.
How do I know this? Because I’ve had my own challenges and limiting beliefs and glimpses of genius.
And here’s why maybe you shouldn’t hire me.
I was severely bullied all the way from elementary through high school.
I majored in partying while in college before graduating with a degree in Graphic Design, now worthless. (Thanks, AI!)
Despite my best efforts, I helped raise two children who have since become valuable members of society.
I had a healthy marriage with my wife until I didn’t, and then my affair was discovered.
I eventually regained my now adult children’s trust, and then that of my now ex-wife.
I almost became homeless.
That said...
Over the course of decades, I’ve been a graphic designer, an animator, a web designer, a court reporter, a drone pilot, an AirBNB host. I’ve built three online businesses. I’ve made a ton of mistakes and fortunately, none were fatal. This means your mistakes probably won’t be fatal either.
I’m currently living a beautiful life with my partner of 10-plus years. We’re in an awesome home in a great neighborhood in an exciting city. Something I’ve always wanted. This is proof that the life you want is possible.
Since my divorce, I’ve been a student of what makes a human truly happy, and what truly doesn’t. It’s not what you think. I’ve actually received a certificate from Yale University that says so.
I have a better understanding of my fears. Which are your fears. We all fear the same shit because that’s how humans are wired.
Shockingly, humans today are working with caveman brains that aren’t designed for the modern world. So much for intelligent design, right? Fortunately, I’ve learned how to bypass that programming. That will help you advance your team and get a leg up with your business. And outside of work, this will help you elevate your most important relationships.
So yeah, I’ve had some challenges too. And still do.
I’ve learned serious lessons along the way. And every day I’m dealing with brand new challenges too. That’s why I know that your challenge can be overcome.
I love exploring this kind of stuff. I love seeing people’s faces light up when something is said during conversation and a powerful insight is created. And sometimes all one needs to change one’s life is a single insight.
Set up a time for us to talk, and let’s see how we can explore your zone of genius to overcome your challenge.
My name is Larry McInnes.
* And, by the way, the invention that I threw away because I thought it was stupid was the coffee bag. Like a tea bag, only with coffee.
